This position is applicable for the 2025-2026 school year. Applicant must have valid and appropriate Missouri certification.
PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION: -Support the education program by providing intervention strategies for students who are at-risk or potentially at-risk At-Risk students include: Any student struggling with academic or behavior issues who needs assistance in the classroom, recovering credit, and/or preparing for the HiSET exam
ESSENTIAL SKILLS - Effective communication skills with students, parents, partners, district personnel, and co-workers - Knowledge of resources available within the community to address student and parent issues regarding academic, mental health, and socio-economic needs - Advanced technology skills to monitor student progress and create regular reports for administration
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the high school and district in a positive manner at all times - Demonstrate relentless commitment to social, emotional, and academic success of all students with a specific focus on at-risk students - Communicate effectively and serve as a liaison with at-risk students, parents, teachers, community partners, counselors and administration - Work with counselors to participate in the referral process for students who need credit recovery, Missouri Options, and/or mental health services for students and families - Create an intervention program criteria to determine the appropriate intervention for students that includes classroom support, credit recovery, on-line learning, and/or HiSET test preparation - Work collaboratively with Branson Alternative High School to monitor the progress of students, share academic data, and facilitate the transition between programs - Monitor student progress by collecting and analyzing student performance data - Attend meetings (e.g., intervention meetings, parent meetings) for the purpose of supporting and enlisting help for at-risk students - Meet with students on a regular basis to facilitate students’ self-understanding and improvement of their behaviors and performance - Serve as the district on-line learning liaison with LAUNCH by enrolling, training students and staff, and monitoring individual progress
ACCOUNTABILITY METRICS - Attendance records of at-risk students - High school dropout rake vs. homeschool - Number of student credit deficiency at each level
